Korle Bu Nursing Training College: Academics Programmes 

Greater Accra’s Korle Bu neighborhood is home to the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Korle Bu Nursing Training College (NMTC Korle-Bu), Ghana’s top nursing education facility.  

The first female doctor in West Africa, Agnes Yewande Savage, oversaw the college’s founding in 1945. The college serves as a training center for public health professionals, and the Ghanaian Ministry of Health (MoH) is in charge of it.

The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has granted accreditation to the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Korle Bu, which is a part of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). 

The primary organization that controls the college’s activities, curriculum, and exams that result in the awarding of professional licensing is Ghana’s Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC). The council’s authority

Academics Programmes 

Part III of the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act 2013 (Act 857) serves as the foundation for the council’s authority. The council operated under NRCD 117 of 1972 and LI 683 prior to the adoption of this Act.

RGN Programme 

The curriculum at NMTC Korle-Bu has continued to change in response to how society’s requirements have changed in terms of health. The RGN study lasts for six semesters and results in the awarding of a Registered General Nursing Diploma.

The programme requires that students be evaluated on a regular basis during the course of the semesters. Students are evaluated based on how well they perform in both theory and clinical practice sections of midterm and final exams.

RM Programme

Only female students may enroll in the Diploma Programme for Registered Midwives. The RM course is divided into semesters. There are also six semesters in the course arrangement.[1]
